I've had a nagging cold this week that actually kept me off the bike on Tuesday as a precaution. It's better to take one day off than force it and lose a week. Rain forced us inside on Wednesday and I had to throw the lights on the mountain bike to get a ride in yesterday. Ill-timed meetings meant that I couldn't get out until 5pm with sunset at 5:30. It was 50F when I left but dropped 10 degrees while I was out. The sky was clear and, while great for stargazing, is not conducive to holding heat. I didn't wear the shoe covers because I thought they'd be too much. Turns out I was wrong. The toes weren't happy when I got home.
It's supposed to be near 60F today. I'm hoping to get a quick spin in this afternoon but, we'll have to see if school stuff allows for that.
Just a couple other things...
If you haven't checked it out, go watch the video Drunk posted over at TeamAngryDrunk.
I especially like the bar-spins he does near the end with his feet.
Also, go sign the Google Maps Bike There petition. Right now, when you ask for directions in Google Maps, it gives you options of "Drive There" and "Public Transit". This petition is to get Google to add a "Bike There" option to show people bike routes to get from place to place. I think it's a great idea (and you should too, dammit!). The more we can promote transportation that doesn't require a car the better.
That's all for now. Got more work to do before the caffeine wears off.
