So it's been a few weeks since our last post. Lots and lots of stuff going on and there's just not enough hours in the day to do everything, including post blogs.
We had a great New Year's Day ride in Circleville with the crew. Heck, we put in 38 miles including the Rocky Knob climb down by Chillicothe. Naturally, there was much merry-making afterwards at Peggie's house. Certainly a great way to start out the new year and we always hate to leave our friends when it's time to head home.
Since then, the weather has been pretty bizarre. Almost a little taste of Spring with some days over 50 degrees. From a riding perspective that's fine but we do need that good old Winter to keep things in check with the natural world. We've been hoping for snow so we can go cross-country skiing but to no avail. In the meantime, we've been riding indoors, lifting at Steiner and getting the occasional outdoor ride. I think though that I've only really been able to put in a couple hundred miles outdoors with many more indoors. The lifting is paying off as I felt really strong on some climbs yesterday.
Reading some good books lately. Perhaps we'll have to up a list of recommended reading.
We're finishing up our graduate school applications. Wish us luck on getting accepted!
Hope to write more soon.
